Artist's Comments

This is a collection of artwork I was comissioned to do for the Ticket Frezy flash game over at [link] (Paramount Comedy Channel), for their Brighton Comedy Festival.

It took me quite a while :) As you can see the proportions on some of the objects aren't right, this is because I was instructed by the designer, that everything need to fit in an exact grid size so the programmers could code the game properly.

I'm quite happy with the brighter colours i've used compared to most of my other stuff but this was mainly because the client wanted the vibrant feel.

My favourite level is probably the pavillion (garden scene) because of the amount of green and nice blue sky :) It was also the most fun to make.

The basic aim of the game was to collect all of the golden tickets lying around the level, whilst avoiding different characters, dogs, waiters, grandma's etc. Then if you wanted, you could run around collecting your friends to follow you to the next level for an extra score bonus.

The actual programming of the game and gameplay didn't turn out that well (not my fault) but I loved creating the artwork for the game and i'm please to share it with you all :D

Thanks,

RhysD

p.s. the last scene is a gay bar (don't ask me why they wanted it, must be some kind of hip place in brighton or something!)

Awesome, nice work. The only thing that bothers me is the repetitiveness. It looks like a lot of stuff was just copied and pasted and nothing was done to make them unique. Give some objects that are the same some imperfections to add a little spice to it. But overall, wonderful job.

All the objects are tiles for the game's engine, that's why it may seem copied and pasted. Also, I had to stick to a deadline and creating more than I had to wasn't really neccessary.

Very awesome work.

Only critique I have is that you outlined everything in black except your little taj mahal makes it stick out a little too much ^^ Great work though I am a sprite artist as well <3
